Coaching

Coaching for learning disabled individuals deals with providing organized systems for various aspects of a person's life. Coaching deals with assisting the client in facilitating action regarding the areas of concern. This can be keeping an organized binder so school papers can be at your finger tips, or how to stop losing your keys daily. Coaching is a prime instrument when treating students with executive function deficits such as managing time, creating healthy routines and organizational skills.

RMET believes some individuals benefit from coaching for short periods of time and others will need extended support. Individuals that have difficulty planning, organizing, and executing simple to complex plans are easily overwhelmed and coaching enables them to break down the plans and deal with smaller sections at a time. Coaching also gives support, encouragement, and guidance while clients are learning new strategies to make life easier and more enjoyable.
